Vouched Inc. ("Vouched," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Vouched mobile app, website, and related services. Vouched is a dating app where members create profiles, invite people who know them to write vouches, match with other members, chat, plan dates, and optionally use identity, safety, or event features when available.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and how you can control it. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use Vouched.

Information We Collect

Account and profile information

We collect information you provide when creating and maintaining your account, including name, display name, email address, phone number, date of birth, age, city or ZIP-derived location, gender, pronouns, dating preferences, interests, biography, photos, Live Photos or video-like profile media, and other profile fields you choose to add.

Vouches, endorsements, and invite information

Vouched is built around endorsements from people who know a member. We collect vouch content, relationship context, optional private messages, selected montage highlights, invite links, and the name and phone number of the person being invited to vouch when a member chooses to send an invitation. If you are invited to vouch for someone, we may collect your name, phone number, verification status, answers, voice responses, transcripts, and endorsement content.

Messages, matches, and date-planning information

We collect information needed to support matching, friendship intent, chat, date planning, availability, selected date ideas, date confirmations, block/unmatch actions, reports, and in-app notifications.

Voice, interview, AI, and generated profile content

If you use voice interview or montage features, we may collect audio, transcripts, interview answers, AI prompts and outputs, generated profile summaries, and related metadata. We use these materials to create and improve your Vouched profile experience and to operate the feature you requested.

Optional verification, background, and credit checks

If you choose to use optional identity verification, background check, or credit check features, we and our screening or verification providers may collect information needed to run and display those checks, such as identity details, verification status, background check results, credit-related information, provider reference IDs, consent records, and related metadata. These checks are optional and are not required to create a profile or use the core dating features.

Contacts and device permissions

When you choose to import from contacts, the app requests access so you can pick a specific person to invite or vouch for. We use contact names and phone numbers for that picker and for the invitation you choose to send. We do not use your contacts to build a general contact database or to send bulk messages.

The app may request camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, and notification permissions. We use camera and photos for profile media and QR scanning, microphone access for voice interviews, contacts for choosing people involved in vouches, and notifications for matches, messages, planning, and account activity. Vouched does not read the content of your SMS messages.

Technical, usage, and security information

We collect information needed to run, secure, and debug the service, such as user IDs, device and push notification tokens, IP address, app version, operating system, request logs, error logs, authentication events, security events, and approximate location derived from information you provide, such as city or ZIP code.

How We Use Information

To create accounts, authenticate users, verify phone or email access, and protect sessions.
To build profiles, montages, vouches, matching, chat, date planning, notifications, QR sharing, and safety features.
To send invitations, verification codes, account messages, safety responses, and support replies.
To moderate content, investigate reports, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and illegal activity, and protect users.
To operate AI-powered features you choose to use, including voice interviews, transcription, and profile or endorsement summaries.
To maintain, analyze, debug, secure, and improve the app and our services.
To comply with law, legal process, and safety obligations.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to provide and protect Vouched, as described below.

With other users: Your profile, photos, selected vouches, montage content, interests, age, location display, and match/chat/date-planning activity may be visible to other users according to product rules and your choices. Private account data and non-visible preferences are not intended to be shown to other members.
With invited endorsers or endorsees: We share invite links and limited context needed to complete a vouch or endorsement flow.
With service providers: We use providers for cloud hosting and storage, SMS and phone verification, email delivery, push notifications, realtime chat, AI processing, media processing, optional identity, background, and credit checks, security, analytics based on our own service data, and customer support.
For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, or prevent harm.
Business transfers: If Vouched is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate protections.

Service Providers We Use

Depending on the feature and environment, our providers may include cloud infrastructure and storage providers, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, Ably for realtime messaging, Twilio for SMS and phone verification, SendGrid for email, OpenAI for AI, transcription, and realtime voice features, screening or verification providers for optional background, credit, or identity checks, and other vendors that help us operate, secure, support, or improve Vouched. We require service providers to process information only for our instructed purposes and to protect it appropriately.

Tracking and Advertising

The Vouched mobile app is not intended to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for targeted advertising, and it is not intended to sell your personal information. If we add tracking or advertising features in the future, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required by law and platform rules.

Sensitive Information

Dating apps can involve sensitive information. Depending on what you choose to provide or opt into, Vouched may process sensitive information such as dating preferences, gender, pronouns, sexual orientation or relationship preferences, optional background or credit check information, voice recordings, photos, messages, and safety reports. We use this information to provide the app, respect your choices, protect users, and comply with law.

Retention and Deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Vouched, maintain your account, enforce our Terms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and protect users. Retention periods vary by data type and context.

You can delete your account in the app from account settings. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify active account information and associated profile media where feasible. Some information may be retained for limited periods where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, safety investigations, backup integrity, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our Terms.

Your Choices and Rights

You can update many profile and account fields in the app.
You can control device permissions through iOS or Android settings.
You can block users and report safety issues in the app.
You can delete your account in the app.
You may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, or restrict processing of your information depending on where you live.

Children and Age Limits

Vouched is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to create accounts or use the dating service. If you believe a minor has provided personal information to Vouched, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Processing

We are based in the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services, legal obligations, or privacy practices change. The updated version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.
